Why AI integration – and where it makes sense
Large language models can understand and write text, summarise documents, extract information and answer questions in natural language. For businesses that opens up new possibilities: answering customer enquiries faster, preparing routine texts automatically, making unstructured data usable and making software easier to operate.
At the same time, AI is no silver bullet. Models can be wrong, every request has a running cost, and data protection questions need answering. Good AI integration therefore starts by asking where it creates real value – and where conventional software is the better choice.
Our principle is simple: AI is a tool, not a replacement. We combine modern models with solid engineering and human judgement so that what you get at the end is reliable.
How we build AI into your product
We start with a concrete use case: which task costs time today, and what would a good result look like? Using real examples from your day-to-day work, we test how well a model handles the task before committing to a full build. That way you know early whether the approach is worth it.
Technically we connect models from OpenAI or Anthropic Claude to your application via their APIs – typically in a Next.js or Node.js environment written in TypeScript. Your own content and data are prepared so the model can draw on them without you losing control. Prompts, fallbacks and validation steps are part of the software, so results stay consistent.
Operations are planned in too: keeping an eye on cost per request, logging responses, handling errors gracefully and swapping models when it makes sense. Data protection and the handling of sensitive information are considered from the very start.
Working together: pragmatic and transparent
You speak directly with the developer who designs and builds the AI feature. We’re open about what a model can and can’t do – without hype and without jargon – so you can make informed decisions about where AI belongs in your business.
Colyer-Commerce works from Switzerland with companies across the DACH region, the UK and the rest of Europe, remotely and in English or German. Whether it’s a single AI feature in an existing application or a new product with AI at its core, we define the scope together.
