The starting point
Anyone buying a used car faces the same question: what has actually been done to this vehicle? Paper receipts get lost, service book stamps are hard to verify, and buyers often have to take the seller’s word for it. That’s just as frustrating for honest owners who have looked after their car properly as it is for buyers.
The idea behind Vericaro: a vehicle history you can trust. Simply storing entries digitally isn’t enough for that. They have to be confirmed by real workshops, impossible to alter afterwards and easy for third parties to verify.
That made for a demanding product challenge: a platform with two user groups – vehicle owners and workshops – who both need to get real value from it, and a trust model that is implemented cleanly at a technical level.
What we built
Colyer-Commerce took Vericaro from idea through product concept to implementation entirely in-house. Vehicle owners use the platform free of charge to keep their vehicle’s history. Workshops get a dedicated area where they record work and confirm it with their digital stamp – only verified workshops can create verified entries.
Immutability is a core principle: once an entry is completed it can’t be changed, and corrections can only be added as a new entry. That keeps the history complete and traceable. When the vehicle is sold, any buyer can check its history via QR code – without an account, in a matter of seconds.
Technically, Vericaro runs on the same modern stack Colyer-Commerce uses for client projects: a fast web application with clean role and permission management, a dependable data layer and operations designed for security and stability. The platform is built for the Swiss, German and Austrian markets.
The outcome
With Vericaro, Colyer-Commerce operates its own SaaS product with a genuine platform model. Owners get a credible digital vehicle history, workshops get a tool to document their work visibly and verifiably, and buyers gain more confidence when purchasing a used car.
For Colyer-Commerce’s clients this has a direct benefit: the experience gained from conceiving, building and running our own product feeds into every SaaS and web app project – from architecture and role models to reliable day-to-day operation.
